Tuesday

Hey. I got home early today from volunteering and I decided to go for a walk. I walked two miles today. It only took me 48 minutes. Wow. I think thats the fastest time ever for me. I'm trying to beef up my exercise regimen. I figure that if I do this, I would be able to loose more weight. I have just six weeks to go before I see my doctor again, so I want to have lost more weight by then.
It's still raining over here, has been for the past two days. I saw on the news the other day that February has been the most wet month since 2011. I always like to walk either in the rain or right after wards because there's still a cool breeze in the air. I hate walking when it's hot outside. So in the summer months I usually walk early in the mornings.
Nothing much more is going on with me. My flowers are still alive from when my sister gave them to e last Tuesday.. And I'm still getting "belated" cards from people from my Birthday. My parents took me out shopping last Saturday. After going to three different stores, we finally found this table that looked old. I've got all of my books on it now. It was fun spending time with both of my parents. I rarely get to do that.
Well I guess that's all for me for today. I hope everyone has a good week!

Friday

Continuation from the 19th. My brother did remember my birthday. He actually called while he was out of town. That made my day. Also another surprise was my sister stopping by with her best friend. She brought me flowers and a card. It was so nice to see both of them. I heard from both my parents and all of my friends.
I ended up going to the park that day. I fed the ducks and walked around the lake. So all in all I had a wonderful birthday.
Another treat is going to be tomorrow. My parents are taking me to an antique mall. I love old furniture.
We'll walk around. Maybe I'll see something that I will like. I'm just happy because I'll be able to spend time with my parents. I don't get to do that often.
Today, I've been dusting and cleaning around the house. I don't know about you but my house is constantly dusty. It make me sneeze a lot. I think my place gets so dusty because it's small and there's not a lot of circulation going on. Plus it's by a busy street. This really makes a difference.
I feel so fulfilled. I have a wonderful family who loves me, fantastic friends and I own my own home. So my life is pretty complete. I never really realized how much I have.
Of course I live on a budget, but who doesn't.
I can honestly say that I have all that I need or even would care about having. My place is small, but it's mine. So, I guess what I have been trying to say is that I'm truely happy.

Birthday

Hello. Well it's my Birthday today. I'm 48 years old. Just two years away from 50. I usually celebrate it over at my parent home, but due to my mother having surgery we're not doing it. Thats OK.
So, I will be home all day, not working. I have slept in late and i plan on being lazy all day. I might watch some movies today, who knows?
Then again I might just end up doing some much needed housework. I've already heard from some friends both yesterday and this morning. I wonder if my brother will remember it. He usually doesn't.
Nothing else to report. Have a great day!

Insomnia

Well, it's exactly 4:26am and I have been up most of the night. Up and down. I think I have the flu. I'm going to the doctor later on this morning. One minute I'm freezing cold then the next I'm sweating hot. My Dad thinks I have the flu also.
So, I decided to go on and get up for the day. And what better to do is to blog. I have been plagued with insomnia all of my life. I'll just go through little spurts where I don't sleep. I think the longest time has been 36 straight hours of no sleep. I have tried all of the remedies. But no luck. So when it hits me I just have to ride it through.
I'm not sleeping tonight because I'm sick, but most times nothing is wrong with me.
What else is going on....
I've been volunteering a lot lately. Trying to stay busy when you don't work is a chore sometimes. There's only so much you can do.
I've really gotten into painting. I do water colors and oil painting on canvas a lot. I look through magazines to get new ideas to paint. I'm also drawing with pencils. I'm not good by any means, but it's fun to dabble.
I also have been taking some moonlight pictures with my new camera. If I can just figure out how to transfer them to my computer, I would be happy. Yep, I'm one of those morons that don't know those things. I'm sure it's simple to do. I just have to figure it out.
I'm still on my Nutri System diet. It's going slow because I think I have platowed. [sp?] I can tell you one thing. It was much easier losing weight before I was a diabetic. Most of the medications I'm on makes me gain weight so it's a constant struggle.
I'm keeping in touch with my family more now. It's sad. We all live in the same city, but we usually don't keep in tough with each other or even see each other often. That was one of my New Years resolutions, to stay in contact with my family.
It's so funny, now when I call my brother he's like "uh, ok thanks for calling." That's one relationship that could improve.
I keep seeing my neighbors with new puppies. SOmetimes it makes me want to get one, but then I think of how much you would have to do to maintain that puppy.
I have enjoyed so much just coming home and not having to worry about taking care of a pet.
Now It's 4:45am and i'm still awake.
Better get a shower and eat something so I can be semi fresh for the doctor.

Wednesday

Well, now it's the new year. You know sometimes I have to really think hard about what to blog about. Nothing new has been going on with me. Still volunteering, still going to doctors appointments and still going to the gym. It's funny, it's about doubled with the amount of people at the gym. I guess theres been a lot of new years resolutions of getting into shape. I wonder how many people will keep it up after a few months. Keeping in shape is hard. But well worth it.
Something funny has been happening where I live. We have numerous cats roaming around the property and every now and then I'll find a dead mouse lying around. I have found three in the past 4 months. So I guess it's good that these cats are keeping the rat population down. Thats just gross any way you look at it.
I found out last month that I have to have eye surgery again. This time it's gonna be laser surgery. I'm not looking forward to it. My eyesight at night is less that desirable. The membrain  behind the lens in my eyes has scar tissue around it and thats why it's like looking through wax paper at night. I don't know when I'll have this done. My eye doctor wants it done by this month, but I think I can get by with it as is for awhile.
What else....I think thats about all. I hope everyone will have a good and prosperous year this year.
More later...

The Holidays

Whew!!! You never realize how busy Christmas can be. I have not blogged in over two weeks time. My families Christmas went off without a hitch. On Christmas morning we woke to a big breakfast then had our Santa Claus. We didn't get to go over to my sisters house due to bad weather. That was a little  disappointing, but I guess we had already had a full day.
One more holiday left, New Years. Me I'm going to be celebrating alone as usual. I've bought a nice bottle of wine to drink. My blood sugar will go up, but it's just once a year.
Then it's back to the old grind. I hope this new year will bring good surprises. Of course one of my goals is to completely get off of insulin. That means I need to loose all of my weight. I can do it. Just a little hard work.
I'm watching my favorite show, MASH. So, I hope everyone has a safe New Years. Talk to you soon.

Monday

We had some commotion over here tonight. A fire department came with paramedics and the police. I waited til it all died down when I went over to my neighbors to find out what went on. He usually keeps his curtains open in his front window so he sees just everything that goes on around here. He said that our neighborhood "crazy" woman was in some sort of trouble. I've blogged about her before. She's the one who calls the police on some people because she thinks their stealing her cat. She also starts screaming at the top of her lungs across the parking lot late at night.
Anyway, apparently the paramedics took her away tonight. I hope she's getting help with whatever her problem is. Whats really scary is that you don't know what this woman will do next. I wonder if she has a gun. She's really off her rocker.
I guess every neighborhood has that one neighbor around that everyone avoids. Their everywhere. These are the type of people that you make sure your doors are locked.
Even if she's not "right," I hope nothing serious is wrong. I always feel bad talking about other people. Sometimes it's just necessary.
